Heidi Hoarau,

Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern

I am driven by the desire to make a difference in people’s lives by facilitating change and

nurturing resilience through collaborative work. I strive to make you feel heard and accepted, and to help you discover and use your strengths and abilities to cope with life challenges, so that you may reach your full potential and live a peaceful and fulfilling life. My integrative approach to counseling is mainly based on postmodern therapies such as Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as mindfulness approaches such as Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Through collaboration and dialogue, new meaning gets constructed, strengths get nurtured, narratives expand, possibilities emerge, and growth occurs.

After working for 15 years as an engineer and manager in an international company, I

decided to change career and obtained my Master of Science’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Through working at a community health center and at a therapeutic school, I gained experience in providing individual and group counseling to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultures who were facing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral/school issues, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, and specific challenges related to neurological differences like ADHD or autism. I am currently holding an LPC-Intern license and am working under supervision of Tamara Pena, LPC-S. I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association, the Houston Counseling Association, and the Houston LPC Association. I am bilingual in English and French, and I practice yoga for my own wellness.

I'm currently pursing my PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston. Prior to being a doctoral student, I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Health and a Master's degree in Health Education. Before the field of psychology, I spent a few years a Perinatal HIV epidemiologist at the City of Houston.

I have been lucky enough to gain clinical and assessment experience through my pre-doctoral training at many coveted sites in the Houston Medical Center. I've worked with many populations, ranging from young children to older adults, with a wide range of issues. The sites I have worked with include Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Texas Children's, UT Health Medical School & Memorial Hermann Hospital. I have a particular interest in depression and trauma work, especially in women, yet I'm excited to continue working with children and parents on issues such as behavioral concerns, ADHD, and autism. Tim Coulter,

Licensed Professional Counselor

Have you asked yourself recently “what is my purpose” or “how do I lead a more fulfilling life?” These questions exist for many of us and I believe with the right intent and the right exploration the answers exist for all of us. My role as your therapist is to walk side by side with you and uncover the answers that you seek. In collaboration with you, we can break down the barriers and the negative self-statements that prevent you from being all that you can be in every moment. Therapy can be a process, but stick with it, dig deep, and reap the blessings of living a life full of discovery and meaning. Different clients need different strategies and my goal is to help you develop the right game plan for you.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Master's degree in Counseling. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years as a banker providing financial solutions to couples and individuals from all walks of life. In addition to financial counseling, I have worked with teenagers, young adults, couples, cancer patients, and individuals in many areas including leading a purpose driven life, career development, substance abuse, anger management, smoking cessation, grief, motivation, and mindfulness. Additionally, I have worked with clients in many settings including schools, residential treatment facilities, and cancer centers doing both traditional counseling and meditation.

Dr. Charlotte Parrott,

Licensed Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist who treats adolescents, adults, and couples who suffer from a variety of problems and difficulties. My approach is Evidence Based, which means I use scientifically-tested strategies to help you understand your problems, improve your quality of life, and maintain your motivation for change. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a present-focused therapy that has been shown to help many different problems including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, anger, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, and insomnia. CBT helps you find ways to change patterns in your thinking and behavior that may be holding you back or contributing to your problems. I also use mindfulness and distress tolerance techniques that help you get unstuck from unhelpful thoughts and help you feel connected to your life in the present moment.

I enjoy working with married and unmarried couples of any background. When treating couples, I use The Gottman Method, which seeks to increase genuine affection, closeness, and trust between partners. It also helps you and your partner approach conflict differently, learn how to make up after a fight, and how to overcome persistent gridlock in your relationship so that you can build a happy and stable future together.

My approach is warm and informal and I want to tailor your treatment to you, making sure that what we work on in session fits with your specific problems, your lifestyle, and your personality.

I earned my Master’s degree and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston. I completed my internship at Baylor College of Medicine and have had the privilege to work in many different hospitals and clinics in Houston, including M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the Houston Area Women’s Center, DePelchin Children’s Center, and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. For my undergraduate training, I attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston, where I graduated magna cum laude from the Honors Program with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

I recently concluded my graduate studies at East Texas Baptist University and obtained my Masters of Arts in Counseling. This is also where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Psychology. During my time at ETBU, I was a four-year cheerleader, an assistant cheerleading coach, and a Resident’s Assistant for freshman girls. Being involved with student life on campus is something I thoroughly enjoyed as I developed relationships that will last a lifetime. I also was inducted into the International Honor Society of Psychology, Psi Chi, where I served as the president from 2017-2018. I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association as well as the Piney Woods Counseling Association where I took first place at the PWCA annual meeting in Tyler, Texas with a colleague as we presented on the effects of poverty in schools and children in Harrison County and surrounding counties in East Texas.

I worked as a practicum student at Sugar Land Counseling Center, where I further expanded my experience through working with individuals, families, and groups. I currently provide life coaching. This is appropriate for those without psychological issues (such as depression or anxiety), who want to make positive changes in their lives by setting and reaching their goals. My goal is to support you in that journey by helping you to strengthen and develop effective life skills so that you can confidently resolve life’s challenges.

Dr. Danielle Hale,

Licensed Psychologist

I’ve been working with men and women for over 15 years, helping them get on the right track so that they can understand themselves and begin to enjoy their lives again. I’ve worked with older adults and their companions and caregivers as they try to negotiate the end of life; with men and women who have been incarcerated, rightly or wrongly; with people who have been traumatized as children as and as adults and who are trying to manage their relationships and survive successfully; with people who don’t fit into stereotypical gender roles, and with people who are recovering from serious mental illness and who are trying to stay in recovery. I also specialize in helping people with anger management problems, particularly men, or who have worry and anxiety that feels out of control. Although I am not a substance abuse counselor, I have worked with a lot of people who are struggling with various addictions and bad habits or impulse control problems.

I’m a licensed Clinical Psychologist, trained first at Abilene Christian University and later at the University of Houston, a Texan, and a mother of three grown children with children of their own, and an adjunct professor, teaching graduate students at a local university. I use Cognitive Behavioral treatment strategies most of the time, along with Mindfulness and Insight-oriented strategies. I have been through some hard times and want to help you get through them too. I try to practice my own wellness through yoga, music, spirituality and maintaining positive relationships. Come see me. We’ll figure out where to go from here.
